The State Board of Vehicle Manufacturers, Dealers and Salespersons consists of the Commissioner of Professional and Occupational Affairs; the Secretary of Transportation, or his designee;  the Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection in the Office of the Attorney General, or his designee;  four members representing the public;  three members who are new vehicle dealers who have been actively engaged as such for a period of five years preceding appointment;  three members, one of which shall be an owner, partner or officer of a corporation or a business which is licensed as a vehicle auction, who are used vehicle dealers, who have been actively engaged as such for a period of five years preceding appointment; one member who is a manufactured housing or mobile home dealer who has been actively engaged as such for five years preceding appointment; one member who is a salesperson who has been actively engaged in the sale of new or used vehicles for a period of five years immediately preceding appointment and is not  a dealer or an officer of a corporation or a member of a partnership engaged in the business of a dealer at the time of appointment;  one member who is a recreational vehicle dealer who has been actively engaged as such for a period of five years immediately preceding appointment; and, one member who is a motorcycle dealer who has been actively engaged as such for a period of five years immediately preceding appointment.  All professional and public members are appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of a majority of the members elected to the Senate.
