In 2010 Pennsylvania remained one of the most active states for professional boxing and mixed martial arts.

With over 300 licensed boxers and over 650 licensed professional and amateur mixed martial arts boxers, the State Athletic Commission is among the top ten commissions in the country.  The Commission sanctioned 30 professional boxing events and 53 mixed martial arts events last year and also sanctioned 62 amateur boxing bouts, 10 kickboxing events, and 368 wrestling matches.

The Commission, which is financially self sufficient, uses no General Fund monies. It generated over $711,000 in net revenues in 2010.
